Removing Comments on Articles
Due to an excessive amount of necroposting (replying to a post or comment that hasn’t had any discussion in weeks, months, years) that I have been seeing on pages’ comments, I have been wondering what the opinions would be on removing page comments.
While removing the pages’ comments would be removing the main talk on pages, the discussion page does exist for those who wish to ask questions or talk about their favorite characters.
This idea would also make it easier for the moderators, as they would have one less thing to check on to make sure people are using appropriate language and not necroposting.
That being said, I would still need to hear from you to hear your opinion!
What You Can Do About Necroposting!
If you’ve gotten a notification from a post you’ve made from years ago because someone has replied to it, you can report their reply and we can warn the user. Reporting makes it easier for the moderators to find inappropriate content and necroposting, since we don’t get a notification for these replies unless we are following the post they were put on.
The main problem with necroposting is that it gives users notifications from a while/long time ago, which can be troublesome if a lot of users were still following the post, as it is sending a notification out to all of them.
That’s all for now, thank you for reading!
