Various types of currency can be accrued throughout the game, with gold being the main currency used to sell items and to purchase goods from the average shop. Most other obtainable currencies have a unique and limited way of acquisition and use.

A select few items in the game not primarily used as a currency may be used as one in more unique situations. This is more reflective of bartering and for the purposes of this article, these items are not listed.

Gold Gold[]

The primary currency used through the game, often suffixed with 'g'.

Calico Egg Calico Eggs[]

See Calico Egg for more information.

An item currency obtained and used only at the Calico Desert by completing various activities during the Desert Festival.

Golden Walnut Golden Walnuts[]

See Golden Walnut for more information.

A non-item currency obtained and used only on Ginger Island by the Parrots for several construction upgrades around the island. A total of 130 golden walnuts can be obtained per per player, per save. Completing all island construction upgrades costs 116 golden walnuts, making the remaining 14 safe to exchange later for the currency Qi Gems.

JOPKCoin1 JOPK Coins[]

See Journey of the Prairie King for more information.

A non-item currency obtained and used only in the Journey of the Prairie King arcade mini-game, located in the recreations room of The Stardrop Saloon. There are two types of JOPK coins; JOPKCoin1 (a 1 coin) and JOPKCoin5 (a 5 coin).

QiCoin Qi Coins[]

A non-item currency used at the Casino, located in the backroom of Oasis in the Calico Desert.

Qi Gem Qi Gems[]

See Qi's Walnut Room for more information.

A non-item currency used in Qi's Walnut Room, which is accessible after the player has gained 100 of the currency Golden Walnut.

Token Star Tokens[]

A non-item currency earned and used at Pelican Town during the Stardew Valley Fair, and only while the player remains in the event.
