Elliott is an NPC and is one of the twelve marriage candidates who live in Stardew Valley.

Elliott lives alone in a cabin on the beach. He is a writer who dreams of one day writing a magnificent novel. He is a sentimental “romantic” with a tendency to go off onto flowery, poetic tangents. When he can afford it, he enjoys a strong beverage at the saloon.

Two Hearts

Enter his house while he's inside. He'll show the player his writing desk, where he spends most of his time, and he'll tell them about how no one believes he can make it as a writer. He will ask them about your favorite kind of books. The player's answer will inspire him to pursue that genre. Each of the three answers are worth 30 friendship points.

• "Mystery." -- "Mystery, huh? It's definitely an exciting genre. I'll remember that." He then says you must know a lot about plants, and asks you to look at the rose on his desk.
• "Romance." -- "Ah, one of the classic genres. I'll remember that." He states, before supplying that as a farmer you must know a lot about plants. He asks you to inspect the rose on his desk to see if it's healthy.
• "Scifi." -- He seems pleasantly surprised, and he supposes even people in "earthy" professions must have their heads in the clouds. He then says you must know a lot about plants, and asks you to look at the rose on his desk.

Four Hearts

Saloon, 3pm - 10pm, any weather

Enter the saloon. Elliott will come in and order a drink for himself and for the player. He will then propose a toast, and ask you what they should toast to:

• "To Pelican Town!" +25 friendship points. "Ah, to a harmonious future for the community... what a virtuous idea. Here's to Pelican Town!"
• "To our friendship!" +50 friendship points. "That's a great idea! Here's to us!"
• "To my good health!" -10 friendship points "Well... okay."
• "To your doom!" -50 friendship points. "Hmph. Forget it."

The two both get drunk. Elliott does a drunk dance, and the player laughs.

Six Hearts

Enter his cabin during the day (near 10am). Elliott is playing piano.

• That was wonderful. -- Elliott says thank you, but he's not very good at it. It's the only pleasure he allows himself!
• How long have you been playing? -- "Oh, I'm not sure... I've been dabbling in piano since I was a kid. I'm not very good, but it's fun."

Elliott talks about his dwindling bank account. He envies the player. He wishes he could throw everything away and be a farmer like them.

• Being a farmer is just as hard, you know. -- Elliott is embarrassed! He didn't mean to say something so insensitive.
• Come live on the farm. I could use the extra help. -- Elliot is surprised! "It sounds wonderful... but I can't give up on my novel. It's already half-way done."

Eight Hearts

The player will receive an invitation to a public book reading by mail the next day. The reading takes place in the afternoon of the same day in the library.

Ten Hearts

Beach, 8am - 1pm, sunny weather

The next morning the player will receive a letter in the mail from Elliott asking you to meet him on the docks on a sunny morning. They will go on a boat trip together, he has struggles to say that he loves the farmer. When he kissed them, he asks why they are trembling. The player can choose:

• "I am happy." +50 friendship points. Elliott agrees with the player.
• "You're making me very uncomfortable. Stop." -50 friendship points.

Marriage

When you ask Elliott to marry you and he accepts, the marriage will take place in the town square 3 days later.

Married Life

• Occasionally waters all the crops or feeds all the animals and fills up your pets water bowl or repairs the fences.
  • Often makes breakfast for you, like pancakes, omelet, coffee, and bread.
• Spends his time in the kitchen where he often makes breakfast for you, then wandering around the house, most days he likes to spend time in his study nook "writing", some mornings he isn't in the house but outside where he has completed a farm task in consideration for you.
• Has his own area extending off the bedroom, as he is a writer it can be likened to a study nook with wooden floor and a Victorian/Edwardian style library.
• Once finished chatting you can click again to kiss, the first kiss of each day results in a little heart.
• At events is in the same places as usual but acts as your husband by saying things such as at the Dance of the Moonlight Jellies when you talk to him he will say "Don't worry dear, I won't talk to any girls, have a good time and relax."
• Uses affectionate nicknames to address you such as "dear" "honey", "darling".
• Most conversations involve him expressing concern for you working so hard, saying how much he appreciates you, or saying very loving writer-esque phrases or poems about you, for example telling you to stay out of the rain so you don't catch a cold, etc.
• His cabin on the beach is still open and remains unchanged however he doesn't use it anymore.
