This site is dedicated to cataloging information from the game Stardew Valley. While this wiki remains open for anyone to edit and make contributions, we ask that you please spend the time to read through our general editing policies outlined below.
Administrators can and will give punishments to users who consistently ignore the rules and policies, and will take appropriate actions depending on the severity of the infraction, with consideration of the infracting user's history on the wiki. Users may request an appeal of their block by contacting the acting administrator of their block.
Handling the situation poorly, such as "YOU SUCK ADMIN UNBAN ME", will likely result in your appeal request being ignored entirely and you may potentially receive a block time extension.
- Spamming, advertising, vandalizing, or inserting false, misleading, or irrelevant information in pages within the main name-space is never allowed.
- Predatory behaviors, insults, threats, harassment, spamming, or otherwise making any users feel unwelcome is not allowed.
- Racism, homophobia, transphobia, elitism, sexism, ableism, or any other form of discrimination or bigotry is never tolerated.
Stardew Valley has an ESRB rating for ages 10+. Our wiki and community will closely emulate this and severe infractions of our policies, particularly the ones mentioned above, will likely result in being blocked indefinitely. Please help keep our space safe and inclusive.
Editing Pages
Please keep in mind, nobody owns pages or the content written within articles, including you. Contributions you or other users make are subject to corrections, additions/subtractions, or other general edits by other users to help improve or expand accessible information. In all cases where the effort to provide helpful and accurate contribution is genuine, users will not be punished for making some mistakes or simply not knowing how to do specific things. Your contributions are appreciated!
1. Use proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization as best as you can. Avoid using slang or abbreviations that aren't derived from or directly used within the game itself.
2. Write in the English language. Check to see if interwiki links are available in alternate languages.
3. Write with a neutral point of view. Biased statements will be deleted, reverted, or otherwise edited out of the article.
4. Do not write in the second person. Instead of using "you" or "we" and other similar pronouns, use "the player" or "players" and other clever word play.
5. Copy/pasting word-for-word from outside sources is highly discouraged, and simply not allowed coming from the Official Wiki. Please make a notable effort in writing and/or designing any contributions yourself. If you aren't able to do this, use citation templates or the HTML reference markup and list them at the end of the article page in a section titled == References ==.
6. Do not edit the message walls, blog pages, comments, user pages, talk pages, etc. that belong to other users unless it is for justifiable maintenance purposes. When there is justifiable cause to edit content in a user's space, please contact Stardew Valley staff members first to resolve any issues rather than taking initiative yourself.
7. If a page is missing information or needs information confirmation, information updates, and/or general cleaning and reorganizing, please put {{Stub}} at the top of the page. This will place the article page in Category:Needs more information so others can see what pages need to be reworked. Another option is to place an appropriate category at the end of an article page, such as Category:Needs cleaning or Category:Needs infobox added, etc.
Creating Pages
1. Article page names should typically be identical to the names or references of subjects or objects used within the game itself, wherever possible.
2. Ensure a page on the subject or object doesn't already exist elsewhere within the wiki before creating a new page.
3. Do not create blank pages. There must be a minimum of one coherent sentence or properly used template. Use Starbox templates for our most recent and up-to-date template designs, when possible.
4. If you are aware further additions are needed or that more information about the subject or object is available but you are unable to provide it at the time of page creation, please append {{Stub}} at the top of your page. This will place the article in Category:Needs more information.
5. Pages created within the main name-space should be about current or upcoming Stardew Valley game content only, with a few exceptions of things like non-base-game content (mods, etc) or other non-video game content that is directly related to Stardew Valley (like the board game, etc).
