I dropped a gold star hot pepper in the pot and the governor said it was "Average" 185.24.12.38 21:25, March 3, 2016 (UTC)
The first year I added either a no star or silver star crystal fruit I had found in the mines. The governor loved it and said the soup was fantastic.
I just tried to add a gold star parsnip, and like the above poster with the pepper, it was 'average'.
So, I used a gold star crystal fruit I'd foraged in the past winter (because, obviously, fresh, right?) and he said it was wonderful.
Who knows.
